Submit online at uscis.gov or mail to the USCIS lockbox. Include proof of your status and relationship evidence (marriage certificate, birth certificates).
The I-130 filing fee is $535 per petition. No fee waiver is available for this form.
USCIS will verify your relationship and eligibility. This may include requests for additional evidence (RFE).
Once approved, your relative waits for a visa number to become available. Check the monthly Visa Bulletin for current dates.
If in the U.S., file Form I-485 (Adjustment of Status). If abroad, process through a U.S. consulate (consular processing).
Your relative attends an interview at USCIS or the U.S. consulate. If approved, they receive their green card.
